Dr. Matheny and his family moved to Kent in 1962. He and his future wife, Rebecca Pozzi, both were in the first class to graduate from Kentridge High School in 1970. He then went to Green River Community College on a baseball scholarship. He played one season there and then signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates and played two seasons in the minor leagues. Upon his release from the Pirates, he returned to Kent to pursue his education at Green River and then attended U of W Dental School, graduating in 1981. He attended dental school on a Naval scholarship and served 4 years as a dental officer in the navy. In 1985 he and his wife returned to Kent and opened his dental practice in July 1985. He and Rebecca have two daughters and one granddaughter, all living in the Seattle area.
While in the Navy Dr. Matheny had the opportunity to further his education with rotations in Oral Surgery, Periodontics and Endodontics, and numerous classes and seminars. While I private practice he has furthered his knowledge by attending classes and seminars with some of the highest regarded researchers and educators. This has allowed him and his staff to offer the highest level of care using the best techniques and materials in dentistry
Dr. Olga grew up in the Pacific Northwest and completed both her undergraduate degree in Community Psychology (BA) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Washington. Go Dawgs! Dr.Olga is an active member of the American Dental Association and Washington Academy of General Dentistry. She stays up-to-date on the newest dental technology and techniques to ensure the highest quality of care for all of his patients at Kent Family Dental.
Dr. Olga strives to make each and every one of her patients feel comfortable. Dr. Olga's gentle touch and excellent bed-side manner will ease even the most fearful patients. At Kent Family Dental our entire team will ensure that our patients are our top priority. Outside of the dental office, Dr. Olga enjoys trying out new and creative recipes, painting, traveling and spending time with her family.
Dr. Sammy Pak, DDS is passionate about providing families in Bellevue, Shoreline, Tacoma, and Puyallup, Washington and its surrounding communities with the comprehensive dental care that’s innovative, safe, and effective.
His training and experience equip him with the skills necessary to treat routine and complex oral health issues, and he also focuses on preventing dental problems at every stage of life. Dr. Pak welcomes patients of all ages to the offices of Sammy BD Pak, DDS.
Dr. Pak completed his undergraduate studies at the well-respected La Sierra University in Riverside, California. He earned his DDS degree from Loma Linda University Dental School in 1999. Dr. Pak is an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Pierce County Dental Association, American Dental Association Council of Dental Benefit, American Dental Association CDT Staff Committee, Harvard University Advisory Committee and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
He received the coveted Golden Apple Award for New Dentist Legislative Leadership from the American Dental Association in 2008. He’s also had the honor and privilege of serving as President of the Pierce County Dental Society.
Dr. Pak keeps pace with the latest developments in dental products and procedures through continuing education via postgraduate courses and professional conferences. His goal is to provide his patients with the best dental care available in a family-oriented and welcoming environment.
He grew up on the Hawaiian island of Oahu and has fond memories of childhood adventures with his brother and sister, such as learning how to climb coconut trees. These days, Dr. Pak enjoys fishing with his friends and chasing a tiny white ball around the golf course while daydreaming about hitting a perfect hole in one.
Chantelle has been in the dental field for about 20 years. She manages the day to day operations of the office and she works hard to assure that things run seamlessly and our patients and staff members are happy.
In her personal time she enjoys spending time with family and close friends. She loves to travel, try out new restaurants, and get outside as much as possible.
Heather was born and raised in Washington. She has been in health care for over 7 years and graduated with honors from Renton Technical College in health care administration. She strives to go above and beyond for patients and easily empathizes with each individual.
In her spare time, Heather loves to be with her daughter and their dog doing everything from cooking to exploring all this beautiful state has to offer.
Sharon received her RDH degree in 1985, and she continues to love her job as a dental hygienist. She strives to provide quality care and a positive patient experience. 'It is my priority to help patients feel comfortable and at ease by building confidence, trust, and friendships with each patient. I truly enjoy being part of my patient's lives and improving their oral health.'
In her free time, she likes many outdoor activities including jogging, biking, hiking, boating, and skiing. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Joanna earned her dental hygiene degree over 23 yrs ago and is still as passionate about being a hygienist as she when she first started in dentistry. Her goal is to establish trust and a positive professional relationship through caring, listening, and providing treatment based on the individual’s needs. Quality through gentle, but thorough treatment and positive encouragement are of utmost importance to her. She also enjoys taking continuing education classes and reading reading articles on the latest evidence based research.
She and her husband have two young adult children (a son and a daughter).They enjoy spending time as a family. Vacationing in Eastern Wa and Maui in the summer are her favorites, along with going to Arizona for her kids’college move in every August.
Binh received her dental hygiene license from Yakima Valley Community College in 2015, and has been working as a hygienist since then. She works side by side with the dentist to make sure the patients receive appropriate treatment. She enjoys working closely with her patients, and together they can work to maintain and improve their oral health.
She has two adorable boys, who always keep her busy. She loves to spend time with her family and husband.
Macy has been a registered assistant for 5 years. She has a passion for the dental field and takes pride in providing a fun and comfortable environment for all patients. Macy’s enthusiastic personality brings humor to the staff and the patients. As our lead assistant, she keeps the back office flowing and on-time.
When Macy isn’t loving on her two handsome boys, she’s traveling or taking strolls through hobby lobby!
